Why would I want to book a shoot?

Well, there could be so many reasons!
– you want the experience of a shoot, to be in front of a camera. Maybe it is on your bucket list? You want to surprise your partner with a set of artistic pictures of you. Did you know a photoshoot is a perfect gift for a loved one? Maybe you want to show the world more of you, or do you want a special little experience, a memory just for you?

Do I have to be a (super)model to do a photoshoot? Do I need experience? It’s my first shoot, so…

Certainly not. In my work I look for reality. What is beauty anyway? For sure it only exists only in the eye of the beholder. If you have prior experience with photoshoots, it could help, but don’t take that for granted. If you have no experience whatsoever, I can definately guide you so we certainly get to interesting results. Relax, it’ll work out just fine. It’s supposed to be fun, not stressful!

How much do you edit the pictures?

Well, not a lot. I don’t use AI / AI tools, I do not apply filters or other modifications that will alter the model’s appearance. Generaly, I edit pictures like this:
– all things involving light: contrast, tones, color, …
– all things involving composition: horizon, cropping, …
With regards to the model, I might:
– retouch temporary blemishes (bruises, cuts, pimpels, …) but not permanent marks. The idea is that you are you, as you are. Your body is the result of every day before today, and we’re making images to have a ‘snapshot’. I will not alter your body shape or volume, I will not polish your skin, I will not alter your general appearance. Yes, I know, I go against the flow. I do edit out temporary blemishes because if the shoot would have happened a week sooner or later, they probably weren’t there.

What is the price for a shoot, and how does payment work? What do I get?

Well, it depends. Different packages are available – see info above

Are all the pictures monochrome?

Well, actually yes. Monochrome (black & white) is a specific style and esthetic, and it suits the general mood and themes of the shoots I do.

Give me reasons to book a shoot with you…

There are a million reasons why you would book a photoshoot.
– you’ve never done it before, and are looking for a new experience with nice results
– you are an experienced model, and want to further expand your portfolio
– you want to (re)build feelings of self confidence about your body
– you want a set of images to surprise your partner
– you want a nice set of images fron your partner
– … a million other reasons – and they are all valid.
There are a few reasons why you would want to book a shoot with me.
– you like the style and the general esthetic of my work
– you appreciate professionalism both in hard- and softskills

Do you only shoot woman?

No. Woman, men, couples, … ‘other configurations’ can book a shoot. However, I focus most on simplicity in my images, and more people as a subject create more complex pictures. Couples is still in the realm of possibilities of course.

Are there any limitations on what I can do with the results?

Almost none. You can print, publish, share (on social media?) the results, or keep everything just for yourself. All is permitted, except commercial exploitation of the results. Discuss upfront if you have a commercial intent with the results, we’ll work it out.

Practical details

What do I need to bring?

Depends on the kind of shoot – we’ll discuss upfront. But usually we can work with what you have and/or some studio attributes. My photography focusses on ‘simplicity’ so there won’t be too much ‘fuzz’.

What is available in the studio?

Of course, this only applies for a shoot in my studio (located in Herenthout). Other locations are different.
– bathroom with toilet and shower
– heated studio
– backdrops (black, white, walls, … )
– some props, furniture and attributes
– I do not provide studio clothing for shoots, but some fabric sheets etc can be used
– hot and cold drinks (water/coffee/tea) so if you want soda, bring something
– it is easy to park very close

Cancellation policy

If we have an appointmet for a shoot, 40% of the cost is due no later than 14 days before the shoot. This downpayment is refundable until 10 days before the shoot. If you cancel later, the amount is non-refundable, but is of course carried over to the new date of the shoot.
If you cancel less than 3 days before the shootm the full 100% is due. We can reschedule the shoot.

Can my partner join?

In general, yes. This your shoot, and you can have it your way. But the time is limited, so any factor that delays the natural progress is not an advantage. But in the end it is up to you. Make sure you’re able to fully focus on the shoot. This is your time to shine!

Contract

Given the type of photography it goes without saying that you have to be 18years or older. We sign a contract before the shoot in which you state to be at least 18 years of age, and are fully capable of making your own descisions. (That and some standard stipulations, nothing extrordinary here).

How do I get the images, and how long do you keep them?

You’ll get a download link to a password protected environment. I keep the images for 365 days after the link has been sent to you. You can download the images as often as you like in that year. After that period, I no longer keep the images, so I cannot provide them to you any more. (To be really clear: Make sure you backup your images in case your device fails!)
